Capcom has announced Lost Planet 2 via Xbox Live Marketplace.

The game will focus on co-op play. The team will be headed by Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi.

As additional gameplay details begin to emerge, it is currently unclear whether the game remains an Xbox 360 exclusive.

The game will use MT-FrameWork 2.0, an evolution of the same propriety graphic engine used by Capcom in its internally-developed Dead Rising, Lost Planet and Devil May Cry 4.
